Decisions regarding right of residence, naturalization and citizenship for foreigners living in the city of Hannover

The immigration office of the city of Hannover decides on applications for right of residence and gives information on possibilities to stay in Germany.

As a general rule, you require an appointment for visiting the immigration office. Only the following services can be given without prior appointment during our opening hours:

  • Confirmation of your status of residence
  • Matters of registration
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday: 08:30 to 11:00 hours
Thursday: 14:00 to 18:00 hours (for employed persons, students, pupils and course participants)

In order to make the required appointment with us (for all other matters than those listed above), please use the e-mail forms below or phone the team that is responsible for your request. We are available on the phone at these hours (only for scheduling an appointment):

Monday to Thursday: 8:30 to 16:00 hours
Friday: 8:30 to 14:00 hours
