The Burgdorfer Land, in the north-east of the region, is distinguished by its culinary delights and by its potent, unspoiled countryside. The landscape is characterised by beautiful half-timbered houses, asparagus fields, woods and marshlands.
The best time of the year to visit the Burgdorfer Land is from May to the end of June, as this district is particularly famous for its asparagus. Burgdorf asparagus is considered to be the best north of the River Main. Other attractions of the region are the Burgdorf Horse Fair, which regularly attracts many visitors in the summer months, and the harvest festivals like the potato market and thresh festival in autumn.
