Admission prices and opening times
The Herrenhausen Royal Gardens are open every day throughout the summer from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. (in April and September until 7 p.m.). A day ticket for the Grosser Garten, Berggarten and the glasshouses costs 4 Euro, and a season ticket for the calendar year 15 Euro. Children up to the age of 14 are admitted free.
After 6 October 2003 the Grotto is open every day from 11:30 am to 15:30 p.m. The day ticket for the autumn and winter saisons for the Grotto and Berggarten and it´s glasshouses costs 2 Euro. The admission to Grosser Garten after 6 October is free. Children up to the age of 14 are admitted free to the Berggarten and the Grotto as well. Tickets are available at the entrance of the Berggarten (open from 9 a.m. to 16:30 p.m.) and at the information-pavillon at the Herrenhausen Royal Gardens´s main entrance (open from 11:30 a.m to 15:30 p.m.).
Tour packages
Admission to the Grotto is included in tickets for the Grosser Garten costing four Euro. Groups on guided tours have priority over other visitors from Monday to Friday between 11.30 and 12.30 and from 2 - 3 p.m. The charge for a guided tour is 80 € plus 4 € per person or 3.50 € per person in groups of more than 20 (this includes admission to the gardens). Bookings are taken by Hannover Tourism Service, telephone 0511 / 12345 - 333.
In cooperation with Sprengel Museum, the Tourism Service also offers tours for groups on 'Niki de Saint Phalle in Hannover'. The thematic tour includes a visit to Sprengel Museum, the Grotto in Herrenhausen Grosser Garten, the Nanas on the bank of the River Leine and Niki de Saint Phalle Promenade in the city centre. Bookings are taken by Hannover Tourism Services on the telephone number above.

Coming by public transport
Trams No. 4 (to Stöcken) and 5 (to Garbsen) will bring you to the Herrenhausen Gardens from the city centre 'Hauptbahnhof' or 'Kröpcke' subway stations in about ten minutes. Usually you should alight at 'Herrenhäuser Gärten', the nearest stop to the Wilhelm Busch Museum is 'Schneiderberg', and for the Herrenhausen Museum you should go on to 'Schaumburgstraße'.
Coming by car
From the north, leave the A2 motorway at 'Herrenhausen/Zentrum' onto the B6, then at the 'Herrenhausen' exit turn right into Herrenhäuser Strasse. After about one kilometre you will see the gardens and the car park signs. From the south you come onto the B6 via the B65 or B3.
Car parking
There is a charge for the 'Parkplatz Ost' car park by the entrance to the Grosser Garten. The 'Parkplatz West' beside the road, 'Am Großen Garten' is free. For large-scale events in and around the Herrenhausen Gardens additional charged parking space is designated.
