Michael Schulte live in Hannover
Michael Schulte began his career as a YouTube cover artist in 2009, and his YouTube channel now has 50 million views and over 200,000 subscribers. In 2011 Rea Garvey, then a juror for "The Voice of Germany", discovered him, invited him to a joint performance at the Kieler Woche and finally wrote the song "Carry Me Home" together with him, which immediately entered the German single charts at number 8 in 2012.
First Album, First Tour
Michael Schultes first studio album "Wide Awake" was released in September 2012 and reached number 1 in the Media Control Newcomer Charts. On the following tour with more than 50 concerts in 2013 alone, Michael Schulte could also be heard live. Whether solo acoustic or with band, whether on his own tour or as support, he convinced the audience again and again.
In 2015 Michael Schulte took a break. He wanted to reinvent himself, redefine his musical orientation. In August he wrote and sang three songs for the following "Alle Farben" album, which was released in April 2016. In April 2017 his current solo album "Hold The Rhythm" was released, accompanied by a big club tour through Germany.
In 2018 the most important event of his career took place: On 22 February he won the German preliminary round and competed for Germany in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 on 12 May. After years in the lowlands of the ESC points table, Germany and Michael Schulte moved up to fourth place in Lisbon. With his song "You Let Me Walk Alone", which he wrote for his father, who died at an early age, he was able to convince viewers, experts and jury alike.
