Tony Christie

"The Hits and Pop Nonsense": British pop legend Tony Christie is embarking on an extensive farewell tour through Germany with a concert at the Kuppelsaal Hannover on 6 January.

South Yorkshire-born Tony Christie, who celebrated his 75th birthday in April 2018, is one of the internationally most successful pop singers with ten million records sold. "I don't know why, but I always knew I could sing," the entertainer once said about his success. Now Tony Christie is saying goodbye to his large and loyal German fan base.

"The way to Amarillo" leads straight to the top

Tony Christie's biggest hit "Is this the way to Amarillo" from 1971, as well as the songs "I did what I did for Maria" and "Las Vegas" are unforgotten. One year later the single "Don't go down to Reno" was another hit. In the course of his career Tony Christie published over 40 albums and 70 singles and gave highly successful concerts around the world.
