Every year on May 1st VW Beetle fans from all over Europe meet in Hannover.
What began at the beginning of the 1980s as a small spare parts market in Altwarmbüchen has now developed into one of the world's largest Beetle meetings. On 1 May, the friends of the so-called "air-cooled Volkswagen" will meet at the "Messeparkplatz Ost" and present their beloved treasures and cultivated pieces of jewellery under the eyes of an expert jury. Over the past few years, many of the 15,000 or so visitors with their highly polished bullis and buggies, sleek convertibles and Karmann Ghias or lowered beetles and bucket cars have even come from Belgium, Denmark, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden and the Czech Republic.
Admission is free for visitors, parking in the exhibition car parks is subject to a fee.
