Georg Friedrich Händel (Kupferstich um 1750)

George Frideric Händel was born on February 23, 1685 in Halle an der Saale. Händel was already composing at the age of ten, and at 17 he became organist at the Castle Church in his hometown. He then worked in Hamburg, four years in Italy and from 1710 to 1712 he was court music director in Hanover.

From here he went to London, where he was court composer to the Guelph kings George I and George II until his death on April 14, 1759.
