In its eleventh edition the KunstFestSpiele Herrenhausen focus on unique artistic experiments, as a glance at the overview shows.

Virtual reality scene from "Eight"

Highlights in 2020 include a virtual reality opera, a spectacular laser and sound installation to mark the 300th anniversary of the Great Fountain, a highly topical film with live music and a resurrected Ludwig van Beethoven, all of Arnold Schönberg's string quartets, the "Symphony of a Thousand" by Gustav Mahler, conducted by Ingo Metzmacher, and an opera installation awarded the Golden Lion at the Venice Biennale. In addition, the audience can experience the diversity of the KunstFestSpiele on Open Sunday, 17 May, with free admission.
