He juggles with polystyrene: with sheets, discs, balls and tiny pellets. And he doesn’t just use his hands but his whole body, fans and more besides. Sometimes he moves the objects, sometimes they seem to move by magic, as if they had a life of their own. At other times they become screens, sculptures and musical instruments that call up the forces of nature. Thrilling worlds appear, to the delight of both children and adults.   

The Italian circus artiste, dancer and philosopher Andrea Salustri devotes himself to the everyday material of polystyrene and it unsuspected possibilities. His ability goes beyond the tricks and skills of the artiste. He creates magical images from his mundane objects. Who would have thought that polystyrene could do all this?

With this show Salustri invents a genre of its own between circus, dance and concert. A creative act in the best sense of unique, precise artistry.
